QUALITY CONTROL UNIT
- The Quality Control Unit is responsible for the analytical and experimental research, development and production of the Agency’s pilot products. The Quality manager for QC unit is Adebola, Effa.
The Laboratory services is divided into three sub-units which include
- Chemistry/Analytical Lab
- Microbiology Lab
The Chemistry/Analytical Lab is where all analytical analysis is being carried out which include:
- Organoleptic analysis of all the samples brought to the Lab
- Proximate analysis of all the samples brought to the Lab
- Phytochemical Screening of all the samples brought to the Lab
- Physio-chemical Screening of all the samples brought to the Lab
- Elemental Screening of all the samples brought to the Lab
- Heavy metal determination in all the samples brought to the Lab
Presently the chemistry Lab have a total of 36 equipment, including HPLC, UV/VIS, AAS and numerous reagents and chemicals.
The Microbiology Laboratory is where all microbial analysis is being carried out which include:
- Test for total aerobic microbial count in all samples brought to the Lab.
- Test for combined yeast /mould count in all samples brought to the Lab.
- Test for specific micro-organism in all samples brought to the Lab.
- Susceptibility test in all samples brought to the Lab.
Presently the microbiology Lab have more than 6 equipment including and over 25 agar medias and broths for scientific research purposes.
