I obtained my first degree in Biochemistry from Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka and an Msc in Biotechnology from Nigeria Defense Academy, Kaduna, Kaduna State. I commenced my career path with Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation in 2011under National Research Institute for Chemical Technology (NARICT) Zaria, Kaduna State.  While at NARICT in the department of Industrial and Environmental Technology (IETD), I had the privilege to work with other team members in the following research projects; environmental impact assessments, bioremediation of industrial wastewater, biofuel production, management of integrated municipal solid waste, assessment of ground water quantity e.t.c.

In 2018, I got transferred to Nigeria Natural Medicine Development Agency (NNMDA), Victoria Island, Lagos, to the Laboratory Services Department. Currently, I am a principal research officer and the Technical manager for Chemistry Laboratory. In a nutshell, I supervise the analysts in chemistry laboratory, ensure full implementation of ISO 17025:2017 in the laboratory activities and oversee to other technical activities.

The desire to develop my expertise, enhance my career prospects, and soar higher while making significant impacts in the indigenous medicine sector further spurs my interest in the field of molecular research with respect to food bioactives.  I wish to develop my skill in this area of research because the potentials in the natural medicines have not been fully harnessed and the production of indigenous medicines as raw materials into finished products is still at very low ebbs in Nigeria despite the abundance of natural medicinal raw materials.
