On April 12th, 2024, the Nigerian Natural Medicine Development Agency (NNMDA) welcomed a courtesy visit from the immediate past National Secretary of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), Pharm. Gbenga Falabi, FPSN.

This high-level meeting suggests potential collaboration between the private sector and NNMDA to explore the growing field of natural medicine in Nigeria

Professor Martins Emeje, Director General (DG) of the NNMDA, is a strong advocate for harnessing the potential of traditional medicine to improve healthcare access and affordability. This visit is a major step towards achieving the charge of the honorable minister of innovation, science and technology to the agency on commercialization of research results.

The DG opines strongly that there’s no better way to renew the hope of Nigerians, especially the rural poor than to deploy science and technology to help them achieve health and wellbeing using their own hitherto rejected methods of healing.
