Cyril Ohikhatemen Ahonsi hails from Afuze -Emai Owan East Local Government Area, Edo State. He obtained his B.Sc in Microbiology, Faculty of Natural Science Ambrose Ali University Ekpoma Edo State, and an M.Sc and a Ph.D in Environmental and Public Health Microbiology from the University of Benin Benin City Edo State. He works in the Product Development Department/Quality Assurance, Nigeria Natural Medicine Development Agency, Federal Ministry of Science, Technology and innovation Lagos Nigeria. Currently he is a Chief Research Officer with kin research interests in Medicinal Aromatic and Pesticidal Plants research, Development and Formulation of herbal medicine for the treatment and management of human and livestock diseases, Bioremediation of Polluted Environments, Antimicrobial Resistance of Clinical and Environmental Isolates, Molecular Studies of Microorganism and Biotechnology. He has a particular interest in Bioremediation and Molecular Biology. He has published many peer-reviewed articles in his research area and he is a member of the Nigerian Society for Microbiology, Member Nigeria Society for Biotechnology, Member Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World, Member International Veterinary Vaccinology network, Member Federation of European Microbiology Society America Society for Microbiology, Society for Applied Microbiology among others.
