Covenant University and NNMDA Forge Strategic Partnership

Covenant University (CU), under the leadership of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abiodun Adebayo, has established a strategic partnership with the Nigeria Natural Medicine Development Agency (NNMDA). During a visit to NNMDA’s Lagos Laboratory headquarters, the two institutions signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at advancing research and innovation in natural medicine through capacity building

The Director General/Chief executive of NNMDA, Prof. Martins Emeje, PhD, FAAS, led the CU delegation on a tour of NNMDA’s cutting-edge laboratories, research library, non-medication clinic, and production development unit, providing valuable insights into the Agency’s efforts to integrate traditional medicine with modern science. This partnership is set to enhance research capabilities, drive innovation, and support sustainable healthcare solutions.

The signing of the MoU marks a significant milestone in fostering collaboration between the academia and industry, demonstrating Nigeria’s readiness to lead in natural medicine research. This initiative aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda for health and wellness, underscoring the importance of educational and research institutions in achieving sustainable development goals.
