In a significant step towards strengthening human capacity and promoting international collaboration, the Nigeria Natural Medicine Development Agency (NNMDA) is currently participating in a high-level international training programme in India.
Mr. Emeka Onyenanu, one of the dedicated staff members of NNMDA, departed Nigeria this week to attend a two-week intensive course within the framework of the prestigious Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Programme, an initiative of the Government of India aimed at building technical expertise among professionals.
This fully sponsored opportunity was made possible through the support and facilitation of the Director General/Chief Executive of NNMDA, Prof. Martins Emeje, who continues to champion human capital development and global partnerships within the Agency.

Speaking during the Agency’s weekly TMC Nugget session, Prof. Emeje stated:
“Our Agency believes in empowering staff to excel through strategic exposure to innovation, knowledge exchange, and international standards. This initiative reflects our ongoing mission to reposition traditional medicine through research, capacity building, and global collaboration.”
The Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode (IIM-K), a globally recognised institution known for cutting-edge research, management innovation, and public sector capacity development, is hosting the training, which is titled “Leadership in the Cognitive Revolution, Management and Governance in the Emerging World of Digital Leadership.

By taking part in the program, NNMDA demonstrates its increasing global presence and reaffirms its commitment to developing Nigeria’s traditional medicine for improved public healthcare delivery.
Mr. Onyenanu’s participation is expected to further enrich the Agency’s ongoing reforms aimed at equipping staff with advanced insights into leadership, digital transformation, and policy implementation.
