
Adebola Ayisat Effa is a Chief Laboratory Technologist and a Researcher with Nigeria Natural Medicine Development Agency (https://nnmda.gov.ng/adebola-ayisat-effa/.) , a research Agency under the supervision of the Federal Ministry of Innovation, Science, and Technology mandated to promote Nigeria Traditional (Indigenous) Medicine (TM) through Research.
She has a background in Science Laboratory Technology (ND, 1996) and Chemistry (HND. 1998) from a reputable institution in Nigeria, Moshhod Abiola Polytechnic with a focus on the Effect of air pollution on the concentration of Lead in Roasted Plantain in Alimisho Local Government, Lagos, Nigeria. Her interest in Education, Research and Scientific Investigations spurred her interest in a second degree in two different discipline Science Education (M.Ed. Hons) from National Open University of Nigeria (2020) with a focus on the Effect of Laboratories on Secondary Schools Curriculum, and Biochemistry (M.Sc. Hons) from Crown University Intl. Chartered, USA (2022) with a focus on the Anti-nutritional and Antioxidants properties of aqueous leaf extract of Kenaf (Hibiscus. cannabinus).
She is an active member of the Institute of Public Analyst of Nigeria (IPAN), an active member of Nigerian Institute of Science Laboratory Technology (NISLT), a member of International Institute of Chartered Engineers, Scientists and Technologists, and a member of International Institute of Chartered Educational Practitioners
She successful lead a team of technologists and researchers to achieve accreditation under ISO17025:2017 for her organizational Laboratory. Her passion is in Analytical Chemistry with the use of Modern technique equipment such as AAS, HPLC, UV/VIS etc. for Research, Scientific Investigations, Data collections, and Drug Development from Indigenous Medicinal Plants of Nigeria.
She has spent more than two decades in the Laboratory carrying out various Research studies and Scientific Investigations on different Nigerian Indigenous Medicinal Aromatic Plant (MAPs) materials. She is currently the head of the ISO accredited Laboratory and the Quality Manager for the Product Development and Quality Assurance Department at Nigeria Natural Medicine Development Agency Laboratory. she is a member of the National Intervention Target Team (NITT) an international research project led by Professor Martins Emeje, spanning five countries, including the United States, China, and South Korea. This project investigates 12 major global diseases, such as diabetes, prostate cancer, brain tumors, and others aiming to develop treatments for integration into the healthcare systems.
She has been trained both within and outside her organization in Modern Techniques on Spectrophotometer, Modern Techniques on Chromatography, Tissue Culture Techniques and protocol Development for Food and Tree Crops, Advance Modern Techniques on Spectrophotometer, Advance Modern Techniques on Chromatography, Quality Management System for Laboratories. Complying with ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO/IEC 15189, Laboratory Methods of water Sampling Analysis and Environmental Pollution and Control, Entrepreneurship and Innovation/Creating Value beyond The Laboratory Environment, Laboratory as Resource for National Development, Laboratory Quality Management System Towards ISO/IEC 17025 Accreditation, Challenges of Drug Abuse and National Security and many others.
She has presented papers in Conferences and Seminars both local and international. She presentation a paper with a focus on Evaluation of the Efficacy of Naturemed Herbal Anti-Dermatosis Soap in Comparison with Equivalent Antiseptic Soaps in Nigeria, in the 25th Annual Conference of ANDI Health Innovation for Development, UNECA, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, she also presentation a paper with a focus on Anti-nutritional and Anti-Oxidants properties of aqueous leaf extract of kenaf (Hibiscus. cannabinus), in Kingson Management and Health Institute, Pambros, Dansoman, Accra, Ghana, in addition she presentation a review paper on the Chemical Composition and Medicinal Uses of Garlic (Allium.sativum) in Nigeria Natural Medicine Development Agency, Lagos, Nigeria and many others.
